The Rye Catchers are a Brit-pop/rock influenced group whose music skillfully combines both retro and modern British sounds into a varied, original repetoire of melodic songs with catchy hooks and layered harmonies.

Formed in January of 1997, the band delivers an energetic live show and has performed at a wide variety of venues and outdoor festivals in the lower mainland during the last year. Outdoor performances have included the 'Color it Surrey' Multicultural festival, the Maple Ridge Canada Day, and Midsummer festivals. Night club shows have been performed in such venues as; the Railway Club, The Gate, Vancouver Press Club, Vogue Theater, UBC Sub-ballroom and China Beach in the Vancouver area. The band has also performed at the 1998 BC Summer Games.

The band has made two live television appearances on VTV'S Vancouver Breakfast Morning Show and will soon be featured on a half-hour radio program on the CBC (stereo FM).
